WHAT ARE CROWN AND BRIGDES?
crown and Bridges are false tooth alike structure.

HOW THEY ARE USEFUL?
They are used as a substitute to replace the lost tooth structure, hence preventing damage to the adjacent and opposite side tooth.

DIFFRENCE BETWEEN CROWN AND BRIDGE:-
Crown are usually used for preservation of single tooth undergone RCT or structure for implant. Bridges is used for 2 or more tooth structures to cover the space of lost tooth and serves as an original bridges hence increasing the life span of tooth structure.

  • PFM (PORCELAIN FUSED TO METAL)
  • Zirconia crowns
METAL CROWNS
  • Metal crowns due to their metal component can with Stand strong forces in mouth. But lack the aesthetic properties making them cheap and outdated.

CROWN AND BRIDGE

PFM
  • PFM crowns are metal based crowns which promotes strength to the crown/bridge and porcelain provides tooth alike properties making it aesthetically acceptable. They are widely these days and are cost effective.
ZIRCONIA
  • These crowns are without metal and hence can withstand any kind of wear and tear stress. Due to absence of metal it can last more than 10 years and in some cases a lifetime. Due to its aesthetical acceptability, it is widely used as they look similar to original tooth structure making it difficult to differentiate between real tooth and an artificial crown. Due to their longevity they are little expensive comparative to other crowns but yet this is the best option available to replace as a tooth structure.
